Somatheeram was founded in 1989 as India’s first Ayurvedic Resort. From these days onwards, we had two key agendas, which we follow until today:
- Providing authentic ayurvedic treatments to our guests
- Increasing the awareness on Ayurveda outside of India
Our efforts and quality standards have been widely appreciated by Government authorities, the International media and, most importantly, by our guests.
We, the management, would like to express our sincere thanks to the trust put forward and the valuable feedback which enabled us to be as successful as we are.
But we would not stand where we are today without the efforts and help of many persons, who contributed a lot to our success.

However success also means responsibility. India is a beautiful country with a thousand different faces. But poverty and a lack of a broad access to education, especially for the needy ones, are a continuous problem.
To contribute our part, we have started a Charity Organisation, named “Help2Help” which supports individuals in need.
In addition, we have selected two other Charity Projects, which we support actively. One is a local project in a neighbouring village, the other is an international project by a reputed organisation.
We would like to introduce these three projects to you. All of them have in common that they provide constructive support. Any money donation does only help in that very moment, but it does not lead to a way to exit the vicious circle of poverty or the lack of access to proper education. However the projects we support focus rather on a long-term improvement, each one by its own way. We, the management of Somatheeram, know the people behind these social projects very well and are convinced of their motivation and sincerity.
