Somatheeram is situated on the picturesque Malabar Coast in the southern Indian state of Kerala. The location is just 30 minutes or 21 kilometres from Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) International Airport. The resort itself is situated right by the sea – far removed from mass tourism, in the peaceful neighbourhood of the village of Chowara. Kerala is India’s southernmost state – and, with its tropical forests, probably the greenest as well. The area is regarded as an exciting travel destination because of its flora and fauna, palaces, temples, traditional villages, national parks, paddy fields and tea plantations. Romantic houseboat trips into the famous backwaters are a special attraction here. |

Winter: November to FebruarBecause of their temperate climate, these months are regarded as the high season. Low humidity and little rain are coupled with pleasant temperatures of about 24°C.
